SAMIR AMIN's EXCELLENT ANALYSIS OF EGYPTIAN IKHWAN AND SOCIAL MOVEMENTS

Samir Amin is one of the best analysts of the Global South in the last several decades. He is highly respected as a socialist and anti-imperialist thinker. Samir Amin's work should be one of the core readings of all anti-imperialists across the world.

This video is a very good overview of events in Egypt of the last months and few years.

However, it is a shame that Samir Amin leaves out the regional, Arab Nationalist and internationalist dimensions of analysis in addition to his correct framing of discussing the economic and anti-imperialist  elements to the political and social movements in Egypt.

Fundamentally, Samir Amin fails to analyse the deep collapse into narrow nationalism and complicity and collaboration with nato imperialism in the bombing and destruction of the Libyan Jamahirya.
