OLDER eNGLISH TV PERSONALITY, PATRICK MOORE: "ONLY GOOD KRAUT IS A DEAD KRAUT"

[Patrick Moore: "A Kraut is a Kraut is a Kraut. And the only good Kraut is a dead Kraut."]

While english media whip up anti-everyone chauvinism, we have a duty to inspire anti-imperialism

Patrick Moore is an astronomer who has been on british tv for decades. He has been promoted and is seen as a kind of likeable fuddy-duddy uncle. In a recent interview he lets on that he bears a serious grudge against the German people and nation for what they particularly to him when he lost his fiancee in a German luftwaffe air raid in London, 1943.

The right-wing daily mail reports on Moore's hatred for Germans by couching it in a very sympathetic and understanding manner.

While I would obviously disagree with Moore's assessment of Germans, I can too also understand how he feels seeing that he lost his beloved and fought in the war, however the agenda of the newspaper in reporting this raises a few issues.

This report is part and parcel of an expanding campaign in the english media in popularising pro-english imperialist hatred for everyone else in the world, including the usa, Germany but especially the peoples of the Global South. england appears to be subject to an intense campaign of trying to resurrect a 'golden era' when english colonialism reigned supreme over their other colonial competition.

The western powers themselves may fall out with each other leading to a real war between them as the imperialist-capitalist crisis deepens, and they start to start shooting, bombing and invading each other. In such a scenario, the resistant-oppressed of the west and across the world have no interest in taking sides between the imperialist powers, and such a conflict between them opens up our own chances of liberating ourselves while they knock each other out. Our position might be different if there is a war between some nations of the Global South and imperialism, in such a situation obviously we should side with the Global South in the war of liberation against imperialism.

It might turn out that some western powers, perhaps even Germany, side with Russia and China (and perhaps other nations of the Global South) in a defensive war against western imperialism, again in such a situation anti-imperialists side with the Global South which may have some unstable alliances with one or a few imperialist nations. This article pre-empts such a scenario:

In his interview for the latest edition of Radio Times magazine, on sale today, he suggests that Germany still thirsts for world domination, saying: ‘We must take care. There may be another war. The Germans will try again, given another chance. A Kraut is a Kraut is a Kraut. And the only good Kraut is a dead Kraut.

‘A German general said to me at the end of the war, “You won two wars. You won’t win the third. And that’s the economic war.” I hope he’s wrong.’

The other point is that while the daily mail sympathises with the anti-German views, they will of course not hold a similar value judgement of the hatred of our peoples against white supremacy and empire inspired by empire's continuing genocide against our loved ones and peoples.

As we see the imperialist media whipping up hate against its historical, present and future enemies we in response have an incomparably greater right and obligation to educate and agitate for hatred against humanity's enemy in imperialism and white supremacy.

I still hate Germans: Patrick Moore attacks nation 70 years after Nazi bomb killed his fiancée

Eccentric astronomer told interviewer: 'The only good Kraut is a dead Kraut'

Nearly seven decades have passed since Sir Patrick Moore’s fiancée was killed by a Nazi bomb.
But the passage of time has clearly done little to quell the eccentric astronomer’s deep-seated feelings towards Germans.

‘The only good Kraut is a dead Kraut,’ the 89-year-old has declared in an interview to mark the 55th anniversary of his star-gazing TV show The Sky At Night.

The comment, apparently delivered with the utmost seriousness, may seem shocking to younger generations but the scars run deep for Sir Patrick.

His fiancée Lorna, a nurse, and he were both 20 when she died in an air raid on London in 1943, three years after they met.

Sir Patrick, who served with the RAF during the war, has previously told how he was so deeply in love that he entered into a life of bachelorhood after the tragedy as ‘there was no question of anyone else’.

He admitted there ‘can be good, free, honourable, decent Germans’ only to add: ‘I haven’t met them myself, but I’m sure they exist.’

He continued: ‘I’m no European. Why? Go to Europe and look around. The Germans tried to conquer us. The French betrayed us. The Belgians did very little and the Italians made us our ice cream.

‘Just look at the world now and look at it when we had a bigger say in it. The English are best. Stand up for England!’

Monocle-wearing Sir Patrick, who began presenting The Sky At Night in 1957 – said he had had ‘a rather interesting war’.

‘Reliable rumours’ of his derring-do include how as a Flight Lieutenant he once climbed over the dead bodies of his pilot and co-pilot to land his Lancaster bomber safely. Then there is talk of a distinguished career in intelligence.

He confessed that he ‘fiddled’ his way into the RAF on the outbreak of war by lying about his age – he was 16 at the time, a year younger than the minimum for air crew volunteers with parental consent – and hiding a childhood heart problem.

At least the Germans have learnt from their mistakes and are doing well e onomically, unlike the war mongering British who stick their noses in other countries business.

Moore should be charged under the law dealing with incitement to racial hatred. The fact that Moore appears to have got away with his disgraceful comments only underlines the hypocrisy surrounding the whole topic of racism. But then Germans are not black, are they?
